This is just as the Lagos State Police Command has commenced investigations into the death of six females bodies dumped in a canal.
At Ikota, the fire, which razed the building also killed the baby, who was locked up alone by his parents, unknown to neighbours.
So as at the time the fire started, all efforts were focused on dousing the fire and only until the fire was put out was it discovered that a baby was locked in there.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Fire Service Director, Rasaq Fadipe, said another fire incident was recorded at the Egbeda area of the state.
He said: "A storey-building is also on fire now at 22 Oduwole Street, Abule Odu Bus stop, Egbeda. We are on top of the situation."
In another development, homicide policemen attached to the Lagos State Police Command, have started investigating the bodies of six women found floating in a canal at Ikorodu area of the state.
Confirming this, the state Police spokesman, Joseph Offor, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the command was already trying to unravel the circumstances that may have led to the death.
He said: "We don't know the identities of the women yet. The decomposing corpses were found in a canal at Anibaba area, off Akele Street, Ikorodu.
"We have not yet made any arrest in relation to the incident. We urge Lagosians to report to the nearest police station if any of their relations are missing."
Offor said the bodies had since been removed to the morgue by the officials of the state environmental agency.
