Oyo-Ita, 51, was inaugurated before the commencement of today’s
Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Buhari at the
presidential villa, Aso Rock.
Recall that on October 20, Buhari ordered the sacking of Danladi Kifasi, the immediate past HoS, just two months to the expiration of his tenure.
In replacement of Kifasi, Buhari appointed Oya-Ita, a chartered accountant, who hails from Adiabo community of Odukpani local council of Cross Rivers state.
Oyo-Ita citation was read by the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, after which she took her oath of office and oath of allegiance before the president, signed the oath register which was counter-signed by Buhari, before the duo shook hands.
While speaking with State House correspondents at the end of the inauguration, Oyo-Ita promised that she will fight corruption in the system adding that she will also boost capacity building for the civil servants in Nigeria.
